Nutmeg Afghan Hound CLub show
Well it's come and gone, just this past weekend. We didn't go to AHALI (Afghan Hound Club of Long Island) as I did not think the venue was worth the money they were charging for everything. We had fun at Nutmeg, although for the first time in years we walked away with nothing. Not so good for Andorra as she has not lost a placement at a specialty since she first began in the ring. Who knows what judges like sometimes. Anway, had fun, hung around with old friends and made a few new. Was a good day all in all. Won a varikennel and a lovely sculpture in the raffle which made it worth it in the end. Next stop is Syracuse shows. All 4 days. Poor Kristen has to miss Thursday and Friday of those shows in leu of college (ah, the life of a student) and our breeder Vivienne Machen will be showing the crew for her. Busy two days but neat for her father and I have 2 days alone for a change. Strange :o) She will come out Friday evening and show some of the clan on Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully we can finish our Hilly so she can retire to motherhood. Would be nice. With any luck and help from AKC we can finally get our Sammy out there in earnest. AKC is being VERY slow coming through with his US registration papers and we're a bit stuck until they do.
After Syracuse who knows what shows we will be at. Will update here as they come along. Good luck to all those at Westminster this week and cognrats to all the winners of the past weekend shows.
